Goldman Sachs shines, other banks' results lag

Goldman Sachs easily beat third-quarter expectations as it benefited from a surge in trading but other banks such as Bank of America and Wells Fargo posted results that showed they are struggling to cope with the impact of the economic downturn had on their lending units.
